Brian Weinzetl ’12 started his own company, Weinzetl Appraisal Services, while he was still a student at St. Cloud State University.
Weinzetl was first inspired by the appraisal business at a St. Cloud State mentor banquet. There, he met St. Cloud State real estate alumnus Dan Schuman who talked to him about what it takes to be in the business.
Thanks to Schuman, Weinzetl’s name was referred to Brian Guggenberger with Guggenberger Appraisal Services who presented him with a life changing offer. Guggenberger was looking for a new trainee appraiser at his office, and he told Weinzetl he would “take him on” if he started his own company.
This opportunity helped Weinzetl jump into the business and start Weinzetl Appraisal Services before graduating in the spring of 2012.
Weinzetl Appraisal Services is an independent fee appraiser business.
“I provide residential appraisals to my clients,” Weinzetl said.
He recently received his Certified Residential Appraisal License and plans to move his business to Monticello and hire his own staff.
“The best part about having a career in Real Estate is that you get to look at some really nice homes and interesting properties,” he said.
