I am a first grade teacher at STRIDE Academy and we have utilized the Science Express three different years as an extension to our science programs. It is wonderful for elementary students to be able to visit a real science lab with real scientists.

Being able to go into a lab and use the microscopes and other equipment really gave the students and teachers a hands-on approach to science which isn’t always available in the classroom setting due to space and cost. It has become so popular that there is a wait list and a rotation so all schools that want to utilize the lab have the opportunity.

While attending classes, I found peace of mind in knowing that my children were nearby. I was able to catch a few extra minutes studying or talking to a professor because I didn’t need to travel somewhere else to pick up my kids after class.

It was nice to have my children in a community with other families of students and professors. I think that strengthened my relationship to St. Cloud State as a whole. The availability of the Lindgren Child Care Center for my boys’ care was a determining factor in my choice to attend St. Cloud State and I can’t imagine my experience there without it.
