She plays loud, too. In the hushed corridors of St. Cloud State University’s Miller Learning Resources Center, that seems like an oxymoron.
“I have a very quiet demeanor, and it might be hard to imagine me playing guitar,” said Melissa Kalpin Prescott, who plays associate professor and chair of the library faculty at SCSU, and has played a Gibson guitar in rock bands for nearly two decades.
The dentist also plays guitar and sings in indie rock bands, usually with the librarian.
The music in Jennifer Kalpin’s dentistry office isn’t nearly as loud as her band music, but rocking out with the librarian is completely natural — she’s her sister.
