St. Cloud Times — Adam Zagajewski, whom many consider to be the greatest living Polish poet, spent time this week on Central Minnesota college campuses. He shared his thoughts with students about the writing process, what inspires him and how to become a poet.
Zagajewski was a nominee in 2010 for the Nobel Prize in literature, and he has accumulated many prestigious awards.
St. Cloud State Professor Tomasz Piotr (Peter) Przytula joined Zagajewski for the Thursday panel at St. Cloud State University. Originally from Poland, Przytula said interacting with Zagajewski was wonderful.
“In many ways, it was a dream come true,” he said.
Zagajewski also talked to students at College of St. Benedict/St. John’s University this week. He said he might have intimidated some by letting them know about the tough choices a budding writer has to make. He tried to stress they didn’t have to accomplish everything right away.
