St. Cloud Times — Most days, one can find Cold Spring native John Decker behind the pages of a newspaper. But instead of combing through it for the latest news, he is looking for important events to help him chronicle the history of Stearns County.
As director of archives at the Stearns History Museum, Decker, 64, says his love and enthusiasm for history is one of the main reasons he has continued his 38-year quest in uncovering the past.
Decker attended St. Cloud State University where he majored in history. After college, Decker was able to secure a position with the Stearns Historical Society in 1974.
