A new student president, vice president and 17 senators were elected into office for Student Government at St. Cloud State University for fall 2015 following elections in April.
New president, Summer Vogl, Fergus Falls, and running mate for vice president, Neil Manning, Arlington, Texas, were the top vote-getters and were elected with 75 percent of the votes.
Students agreed with a referendum question asking if the creation of a Middle Eastern studies program would promote diversity and inclusiveness at the university with 56 percent voting yes.

A slight majority of students approve of a green fee for the implementation of green initiatives and sustainability around campus with 51 percent voting yes on the question. Forty percent voted no, the rest abstained.
Students were also split on a question of paying a per-credit fee to bring in nationally recognized acts for concerts, speakers and comedians for student events. Fifty percent of the voters agreed with the statement, 40 percent disagreed and the remainder abstained.
Questions proposed were to gage student opinions on topical issues.
The spring 2015 elections turned out just 2.25 percent of 14,629 eligible voters.
