More than 1,610 students graduated this spring semester and are now ready to move on to their first job or to a new level in their career.

While some may not yet know what that will be, four graduates are sharing their stories of how they will put their degrees to work in the field of their choice.
Nearly 1,180 participated in Commencement ceremonies 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. May 9 in the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center.

Q: What about your education at St. Cloud State prepared you most for your new career?
A: The nursing program at St. Cloud State University goes above and beyond to prepare their student to become highly skilled professional nurses. We are highly recognized individuals around central and northern Minnesota. They greatly prepare us for the state exam in which our passing rates are among the highest.
Q: What will you miss about St. Cloud State:
A: I am going to miss the atmosphere. (Faculty) work hard to provide students with what they need to succeed. St. Cloud is a very competitive school and growing tremendously to better education.
Q: What are you most excited about for the future in your career?
A: I am most excited to be a nurse and make a difference in the lives of others. To be part of a career where the importance of our job titles is so highly recognized by individuals who come in contact with us is very rewarding.

Q: What about your education at St. Cloud State prepared you most for your new career?
A: My education at St Cloud State has prepared me to succeed in my field by preparing me to take the licensure test to become a licensed land surveyor.
Q: What will you miss about St. Cloud State?
A: I will miss the geography department faculty because they were very helpful in assisting me with completing my degree.
Q: What are you most excited about for the future in your career?
A: I am excited to continue to grow my knowledge in the field as well as meet new people in my field. I will be responsible for performing survey duties in the field as well as assisting the licensed land surveyor.

Q: What about your education at St. Cloud State prepared you most for your new career?
A: The education has prepared me well in many ways. Getting me involved with really engineering projects and working in a corporate environment in addition to classroom and laboratory time will make a big difference. The constant challenge to think critically and solve problems will also serve me very well.
Q: What will you miss most about St. Cloud State?
A: I will miss being around campus and seeing familiar faces everywhere. I will miss being a Student Athlete and representing St. Cloud State. I will miss being able to attend all the great events that take place on campus throughout the year.
Q: What are you most excited about for the future of your career?
A: I am excited about the opportunity to continue to learn new things as I apply the knowledge I have gained during my time at St. Cloud State. It will be fun making a difference by drawing on the experiences I have as a St. Cloud State student.

Q: What about your education at St. Cloud State prepared you most for your new career?
A: My education at St. Cloud State has given me strong technical laboratory skills including experience in the operation of numerous instruments used in industry such as those instruments and techniques used at Dairyland Laboratories to analyze the dietary value of agricultural feed samples.
Q: What will you miss about St. Cloud State?
A: I will miss the classroom experience of engaging with my professors and other students in discussion about how and why substances behave the way they do. I will miss the experience of engaging with a diverse range of students from different cultures and areas of studies that have given me a wider understanding of humanity and the beauty of what can be produced by the hands of humankind.
Q: What are you most excited about for the future in your career?
A: I am very excited to apply the skills I have gained at St. Cloud State to solve the challenges. I encounter at my new career and overcome any obstacles to my company’s success.
I am excited for the opportunity to demonstrate my knowledge and skills that I have gained during my time at St. Cloud State. To show that I can be an influential team member in advancing my company’s contribution to its sector.
