St. Cloud Times — It started with a recommendation from a former teammate.
Casey Borer was trying to figure out where he wanted to play pro hockey in Europe before the 2012-13 season and had a talk with former St. Cloud State men’s hockey goalie Bobby Goepfert.
“He was saying that Germany is a good country and there’s a good quality of life there,” said Borer, who played defense for St. Cloud State from 2003-07. “I started looking at rosters and there were a lot of names I recognized, a lot of former college players.
