KARE 11 — Dijon McCain and Jessica Makori always wondered what it would be like inside the White House.
On Thursday they not only got in they got a pep talk from First Lady Michelle Obama herself on how to survive college and beyond.
“I am where I am, Barack is where he is because let me tell you…this President works hard,” Mrs. Obama told students.
The incoming college freshmen were among the 130 students invited to the 2015 Beating the Odds Summit, which celebrates students who, despite obstacles, are college bound.
(Dijon McCain plans to attend St. Cloud State in fall, while Jessica Makori plans to attend Carlton College.)
