St. Cloud Times — Julie Friend finished her degree in May and was trying to find a career path.
Friend, a four-year starter aa goalie for the St. Cloud State women’s hockey team, has signed to play this fall for the DEC Salzburg (Austria) Eagles in the Elite Women’s Hockey League.
Friend, who earned her degree as a double major in mass communications and sports and recreation management, will be one of three Americans playing for Salzburg.
