Huskies First Four to help students integrate to campus life

Everything new Huskies need to know about events and happenings to welcome them to campus is part of Huskies First Four — a new concept that includes students’ first four, days, weeks and months at St. Cloud State University.

The switch to a four-day, Thursday through Sunday event brings together Move-in, Welcome Weekend, new student orientation and Huskies Kick-Off and coalesces them into what they are — a new student’s introduction to St. Cloud State

Huskies First Four offers a safe, fun environment for students to get to know campus and meet new one another before classes begin. Moving in, orientation and fun events that will fill each day Aug. 20-23. Centers that serve special groups of students, such as the University Honors Program and Veterans Resource Center, will hold open houses to share information about the services they provide.

Information on all the events can be found on Huskies First Four, along with resources on moving in, advising and registration and information for families.

1st4_2_200pxThe Huskies First Four initiative goes further than just the first weekend. It also takes students through their first four weeks and months on campus to help them make the transition to college life during their first semester.

Huskies First Four: Weeks introduces students to the Huskies Kick-off with free admission to the campus Fitness Center, concerts, football and soccer games, Mainstreet and Celebrate! St. Cloud State.

Huskies First Four: Months offers tips and resources to help students succeed in their first semester at St. Cloud State. It’s introduces students to opportunities to explore St. Cloud’s outdoor opportunities, become a lifelong Huskies athletics fan and expand their cultural and artistic horizons.
