Penguins sign 17-year vet Cullen to vie for 4th-line center role

Triblive.com – General manager Jim Rutherford would never say never, but it looks like the Penguins wrapped up a busy summer of transactions with one final free agent signing Thursday.

The last addition was 38-year-old center Matt Cullen, who signed a one-year, $800,000 deal, the team announced.

Cullen made his pro debut with Baltimore of the AHL after the end of his sophomore season at St. Cloud State in 1997.
