Students and employees are invited to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Shoemaker Hall, the three-wing student residence at the south end of campus.
A reception and program with light refreshments are set for 11:30 a.m. Sept. 19 in a tent adjacent to the north wing, which was built in 1915 and renovated in 2011. Tours of the entire complex will depart every 15 minutes from the tent, through 1 p.m.
Among the speakers at the reception will be Dan Pedersen, director of residential life.
The celebration is in conjunction with a Celebrate! St. Cloud State weekend gathering of current and former Shoemaker staff members.
Shoemaker Hall is named for Waite Shoemaker, who was president of the State Normal School at St. Cloud from 1902-15.
The anniversary celebration is sponsored by the Department of Residential Life and Office of Alumni Relations. For more information, contact Kenny Hendrickson at [email protected].
