As I begin my tenure as Foundation Board Chair I am optimistic about our prospects for future success. Much work has been done over the last several years by our Board, and Foundation leadership and staff, to strengthen our capacity to fulfill our mission.
In fiscal year 2015, the Huskies Scholarships program was launched with great success. By moving to a single common online application, over 3,600 students applied for the Foundation’s 475 scholarships and the aid disbursed increased by 12% over the previous year. The Foundation raised nearly $1 million for scholarships in FY ’15 and we are extremely grateful to our supporters for their gifts.
The Foundation Board is committed to bringing strong governance, oversight and policy making to its work with the Foundation and University Advancement. In doing so, we strive to give to you, our donor community confidence that we will be good stewards of the gifts you share with us for the benefit of our students, faculty and staff.
