Minneapolis — Leo Pohlkamp ’76 and the Pierz High School football team ended their season Nov. 14 at TCF Bank Stadium with a 13-0 record and the Class 3A state title.
“Offense wins ballgames, defense wins championships,” said Pohlkamp, who has coached the eastern Morrison County school to four consecutive state tournament appearances. Pierz won the Class 2A title in 2004, with Pohlkamp at the helm.
Pohlkamp holds a bachelor’s degree in physical education.
