RCTC math teacher retires ‘on a high note’

Rochester Post-Bulletin — A Rochester Community and Technical College math instructor received a national award this month.

ViAnn Olson ’83 was awarded the 2015 Teaching Excellence Award from the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges during a convention in New Orleans.

Olson has taught for 40 years. Before she was at RCTC, she taught high school math. She earned her bachelor’s degree in mathematics education from Moorhead State University, her master’s degree in mathematics education from St. Cloud State University and her doctorate of mathematics education from Curtin University of Technology, Perth, Australia.
