Gering Citizen — Valley Bank and Trust Co. has announced its selection of Matt Elvehjem ’96 as its new Senior Vice President. Elvehjem will serve to lead commercial lending efforts in western Nebraska, as well as generate greater awareness to community banking and high service level that Western States Bank has successfully established.
“Matt is a valuable addition to the Valley Bank and Trust Co. team,” said Craig Ockers, President and CEO of Valley Bank and Trust Co. “His vast range of expertise in the field and community-oriented attitude will allow us to further enhance our service to the area.”
Elvehjem brings more than 15 years banking experience to Valley Bank and Trust Co. Most recently, he held the position of VP Business Banker – Location Lead at Lake Area Bank in Minnesota and has served as Sr. Vice President and Branch President at other banks throughout the state.
He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from St. Cloud State University and has continued his education at UW-Madison Graduate School of Banking, WBA Loan Compliance School and WBA Residential Mortgage Lending School.
