Breakdown founder creates a niche

St. Cloud Times — Justin Hegna still has a copy of his first Breakdown USA boys basketball yearbook from 2001 on his desk.

What the 1991 Becker graduate thinks of it is not flattering.

“I think the average fourth-grader could have written it better,” said Hegna, who did most of the writing with Brad Raymond, a friend and former teammate at St. Cloud State.

To be fair, the first one was pretty good. Hegna, owner and founder of Breakdown USA, had discovered a niche.

Some 55 publications later, he’s in charge of a successful business with a full-time editor of the publications, which are no small task. Breakdown USA publishes boys and girls basketball, hockey, volleyball and baseball yearbooks.
