ABC Newspapers — Residents will get a glimpse into the life of a Ramsey police officer in the department’s first Ramsey Police Citizen’s Academy.
At meetings from 6-9 p.m. every Wednesday between Sept. 21 and Oct. 26, the Ramsey Police Department will cover different topics. The participants will be able to try out video simulations, drive a squad car, pretend they are arresting someone and much more

All but one class will take place in Ramsey. St. Cloud State has a driving course that police officers, firefighters and snowplow truck drivers use to train and this course will be open one of the Wednesday evenings to the citizen’s academy participants so they can drive a police squad car as if they are chasing suspects or responding to a call.
