St. Cloud Times — On March 2, St. Cloud State University announced it was cutting six sports programs to help manage a multimillion-dollar deficit.
In the weeks that have followed, student-athletes have been upset — “obviously,” as a handful said.
Some launched a futile GoFundMe campaign in an attempt to save the men’s track and field and cross country programs.
The cuts are final, according to Director of Athletics Heather Weems, who has garnered praise from students since the announcement.
