Gov. Mark Dayton was the special guest at the April 2 Somali Night at St. Cloud State University. Dayton spoke to inclusiveness around the St. Cloud State campus and the state of Minnesota, and how we must continue to work together in our communities for the greater good.
Dayton was invited to attend the cultural festival by Somali Student Association President Aziza Mohamed in October when the governor attended the St. Cloud NAACP Community Conversation at the St. Cloud Public Library.
The show featured traditional dances, poems, a fashion show, a talent show and speeches by accomplished members of Minnesota’s Somali community.
