Sea change: Holy Cross show looks at our impact on nature

Mass. Telegram — Expect a moving experience if you go to the show currently running at the Cantor Gallery at the College of the Holy Cross. Even before you get inside, you are immediately taken in by a series ceaselessly undulating video images projected on large hanging screens that can be seen through the glass walls as you approach the gallery. Once you enter, you likely will find yourself hopelessly immersed in the videos.

The video is the work of Argentina-born artist Alexa Horochowski, who now lives in Minnesota where she teaches 3D design and sculpture at St. Cloud State University. The concepts for the work in the show, which is called “Club Disminución” or “Club of Diminishing Returns,” came about while Horochowski was in residency during 2012-13 at Casa Poli, a nonprofit institution in Coliumo, Chile.
