St. Cloud Times — At a prayer service Thursday, attendees heard that Earl H. Potter III “was a person of civility, leadership and collaboration.”
With those comments, the Rev. Anthony Oelrich welcomed a crowd to the Christ Church Newman Center at St. Cloud State University.
Potter, the school’s 22nd president, died Monday night in a one-vehicle crash on Interstate Highway 694 in Brooklyn Center.
After the service, Oelrich said Potter was always receptive and encouraging about the Newman Center’s work. He said the president stressed how faith groups, including his Roman Catholic one, could help students in their times of transitions.
