WXOW — Attracting new businesses and the talent for growth was the focus of a meeting in La Crescent on Wednesday morning.
Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon is making his way on a tour throughout the state and paid a visit to the Chamber of Commerce in La Crescent.
He said they partnered with St. Cloud State University’s School of Public Affairs to put together quarterly economic reports by six regions.
“It’s kind of a look in the rear view mirror, talk about where we are now and then some prediction of the future on a quarterly basis. These are new reports, it’s fresh information that hopefully will give guidance to individual businesses, to chambers of commerce, to cities and towns as they’re recruiting other businesses and what we really want to do is provide a useful service,” said Simon.
