Pittsburg Post-Gazette — Ethan Prow didn’t have to go far to get to college.
By his estimate, the journey took approximately 10 minutes.
A native of Sauk Rapids, Minn, he attended St. Cloud State where, as a senior in 2015-16, he led all NCAA defensemen in scoring. In 37 games, he scored 38 points (eight goals, 30 assists) and was a finalist for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award, which recognizes the top player in college hockey.
“They let me play my own game, which is a little more offensive, and to contribute that way,” said Prow, who is taking part in the Penguins’ development camp in Cranberry this week. “But, then again, they kind of held me accountable defensively as well. That kind of molds everybody to be be a complete player and that’s what you’re going to need to get to the next level. So that’s what I was trying to be.”
The next level is the NHL ranks. The journey there will take a little longer than 10 minutes.
