Rapid City police chief receives leadership graduate degree

Rapid City’s chief of police in May obtained a master’s degree in public safety executive leadership, designed to strengthen leadership skills and public safety knowledge.

Karl Jegeris received the degree from St. Cloud State University in Minnesota through a distance-learning system he joined in 2013. The leadership program aims to help participants develop “an awareness and understanding for racial, gender and cultural diversity issues in public safety while also learning how to partner with community officials and organizers,” according to the university.
