We Shall Not Forget: Forest’s time in Army was well worth it

Lake Mills Leader — In many cases, life in the military can be an enriching experience.

Boyd Forest ’64 would agree with that sentiment. The 77-year-old Lake Mills resident spent nearly three years as a member of the U.S. Army, and it readied him for much of the experiences he would have as an educator later in life.

Boyd graduated from St. Cloud State in 1964 with degrees in business, physical education, health and adaptive physical education and then spent more than a decade working for school districts in various places around the Midwest.

Forest worked in Hosmer, S.D., Flint, Mich. and Racine before finally making his way to the Lake Mills Area School District in Aug. 1977 as the assistant principal at Lake Mills High School.
