Community, openness help Potter overcome breast cancer

St. Cloud Times — Margaret Potter said she owes half of her breast cancer survival to modern medicine, the other half to her openness about the disease and support she received from the community around her.

The eldest daughter of the late St. Cloud State University President Earl H. Potter III spoke about her story of survival on Thursday as a part of the kickoff for the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. Kim Orn, of the American Cancer Society, said an honorary survivor is chosen every year for the event.
