Flint knapping, prehistoric cooking, spear throwing and pottery making were all on display at the Interpretive Center at Kathio State Park Sept. 24 during the park’s annual Archaeological Day.
The day’s events were put on by several entities, including the Minnesota Archaeological Society, Minnesota Historical Society, Office of the State Archaeologist, Maritime Heritage Minnesota and St. Cloud State University.
Grad students from St. Cloud State University demonstrated what they do as archeologists, including a map station and a screen station, where kids could sift through and find artifacts.
