Tri County News — Glen Tuomaala, St. Cloud State University Band Director, will present History of the St. Cloud State Bands at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9. He’ll share his research into the early years of the band, its collaborative partnerships with the community, and the driving force to establish the group that we recognize today. He conducted many oral interviews with alumni and will bring first-hand accounts to this intriguing presentation.
The band has a colorful history, including having the fight song banned and the occasional appearance of streakers in the past. Also, world famous musicians have played with them.
