St. Cloud Times — Judd Peterson knows what the St. Cloud State men’s hockey team was facing and it was nothing that he was willing to accept.
The Huskies were trailing 5-2 halfway through the third period Friday at Mariucci Arena against the University of Minnesota. St. Cloud State was 0-2 going into the series after getting swept at Minnesota State-Mankato and everything was pointing at the team’s first 0-3 start since going 0-4 to start the 1991-92 season.
“You’re thinking to yourself, shucks, we could potentially be 0-4 because Minnesota has always been an elite program,” said Peterson, whose team also trailed 2-0 before winning Saturday. “Why we were so fired up after Saturday night’s win was because down 5-2 Friday night at Mariucci, no one in the building would have thought we could come back and win that game.
