Student musicians will share their talents with the St. Cloud community in a pair of free concerts Dec. 1-2.

First the St. Cloud State University Campus Band and Wind Ensemble will perform a free “Winter Winds at Whitney” concert at 6 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Whitney Senior Center in St. Cloud.
The program features holiday-themed music and traditional festive music for wind band including Stephen Bulla’s “Klemzer Dances,” music from “Polar Express” and “Sleigh Ride.” The program will feature student conductors Chantelle Anderson, Little Falls; Justin Frerich, Rice; and David Thompson, St. Cloud.
On Dec. 2, St. Cloud State student chamber ensembles will join together to present a free concert at 6 p.m. Dec. 2 in the Performing Arts Center’s Ruth Gant Recital Hall.
The collaborative program brings together students from the orchestra, jazz ensemble and the percussion ensemble to perform a variety of chamber works. Ranging from traditional to ultra-modern, the program includes works for string orchestra, student soloists, jazz ensemble, percussion and electronics as well as collaborative improvisation and music from animated video scores.
