St. Cloud Times — In the current atmosphere of political uncertainty, St. Cloud State University students and members of the LGBT community are looking to the history of the AIDS epidemic to remember how change often happens in bits and pieces.
The Miller Center Library at St. Cloud State University is hosting an exhibit that delves into the personal stories, photos, advertisements and posters of people living with AIDS during the 1980s.
“Surviving and Thriving: AIDS, Politics and Culture” opens Monday, March 13 and runs through April 22. Over the seven-week run, organizers have planned panels, education sessions, film showings and other events to raise awareness of this important era in LGBT history and promote positive messages about safe sex.
