Students are invited to visit with Ashish Vaidya, interim president, at open forums this semester.
“Pizza with the President” is noon-1 p.m. April 17 in the atrium of Herb Brooks National Hockey Center.
About 40 students participated in “Donuts & Dialogue” Feb. 22 in the main-floor lounge of Atwood Memorial Center.
The Miller Center hosted “Coffee, Cocoa & Conversation” March 22.
At the forums, Vaidya listens to concerns and answers questions.
An economist by training, Vaidya has worked at St. Cloud State since July 2015, serving first as provost and vice president of academic affairs. He was a appointed interim president in June 2016 following the death of President Earl H. Potter III.

Previously, he served California State University, Los Angeles, from 2010-2015 as provost and vice president for academic affairs and as special adviser to the president for regional economic development.
He also served California State University Channel Islands as dean of the faculty from 2005-2010, as the MBA director from 2003-2005, and as founding director of the Center for International Affairs from 2004-2006.
Vaidya holds three university degrees, including a doctorate in economics from University of California, Davis.
