Young is an ordained minister with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of American and the adviser for St. Cloud State University Lutheran Campus Ministries. On campus, Young leads bible studies and what she referrers to as “landmark services,” which include Ash Wednesday services and interfaith prayer services.
Young stumbled across a call for pastors to participate in the Lutheran World Federation Young Preachers Competition. The winner of the competition gets the opportunity to deliver a sermon in May at the Lutheran World Federation’s assembly in Windhoek, Namibia.
