Alumna touted on Sierra Club’s People’s Power List

St. Cloud Times — A Clearwater woman was recognized this month for her work to reduce the use of coal to create energy in Minnesota.

Rose Thelen ’80 was included on the People’s Power List by Sierra, the national magazine of the Sierra Club. The list recognized 12 people from across the U.S. who have worked on environmental issues.

The Sierra Club celebrated the environmental organization’s 125th anniversary last week in San Francisco. Thelen was among the honorees on a list that included LaDonna Brave Bull Allard, a lead protester of the Dakota Access pipeline, and actress Shailene Woodley.

Thelen, 68, earned a bachelor of elective studies degree.
