Pierce County Herald — Karina Kern ’13 said when the words began to come out of her mouth, so did the music.
Kern started off her musical career by writing down lyrics, mostly about childish things like cute boys or a day at the beach.
Now though, the 26-year-old Prescott native is singing about her emotions and experiences following the death of her mother, Terri, last year on her new self-titled EP “Karina Kern.”
…
The Prescott native graduated from St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minn. and is currently a purchasing planner at MotivAction in Plymouth, Minn.
Kern played in a band called The Lotus Goodnight and enjoyed it, performing in area bars and coffee shops.
With school done and a musical desire still in her heart, Kern listened to what her mother told her: Never stop pursuing your dreams.
