GREAT Theatre and KVSC 88.1FM at St. Cloud State University are teaming up to bring the infamous radio drama “The War of The Worlds” live to the stage and radio Oct. 28.

The experience cast of local actors and live sound effects artists are recreating one of the most famous radio plays of all time – just in time for Halloween.

The legendary show that caused a national panic in 1938 by Orson Welles and The Mercury Theater will be performed live on-stage at Helgeson Learning Lab Theatre, 710 Sundial Dr., Waite Park, and broadcast and streamed live on KVSC radio at 8 p.m. Oct. 28.

Audience members will experience what’s behind the curtain in a production that truly enters the “theatre of the mind.”

“The War of The Worlds” will be the first PLAYlabs experience created in the brand new Helgeson Learning Lab Theatre in Waite Park. PLAYlabs are experiences that provide a chance for GREAT Theatre to be brave and take bold artistic risks as we venture into the new.
