St. Cloud State University has awarded its first three ACCESS STEM scholarships to high school students from Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Emma Wermager, Kassidy Lange and Nasradin Tahir accepted their scholarships this April when they were on campus to register for their fall semester classes at Huskies Advising and Registration.
The Academic Collaboration and Coordination Model to Ensure Student Success in STEM (ACCESS STEM) scholarship is an up to $9,000 per year scholarship for students interested in majoring in a STEM field.
The scholarships are being awarded to incoming freshmen at St. Cloud State and Anoka-Ramsey Community College, North Hennepin Community College (NHCC), Ridgewater College and St. Cloud Technical & Community College.
Wermager, of Shoreview, a senior from Mounds View High School, will come to St. Cloud State to study chemistry.
Lange, a senior at Cedarburg High School in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, will major in biomedical science.
Tahir, of Champlin, a senior at Champlin Park High School will study cybersecurity.
Students who earn the scholarships while starting at one of the community colleges will have the option to continue their scholarship to finish their bachelor’s degree at St. Cloud State.
