Student winners at Huskies Showcase

Students earned 16 awards for presenting scholarly work at the Huskies Showcase April 11 in Atwood Memorial Center.

Types of projects presented included a thesis, creative work, internship, research project, service learning experience or volunteer experience.

About 500 students participated in nearly 300 projects. 

Among the winning projects were six mentored by Marina Cetkovic-Cvrlje, a biology professor and 11-year employee. She teamed with Shana Rogan to earn the Best Graduate Oral Presentation award. Rogan, a biology master’s candidate from New Hope, presented on research that deflates claims that bitter kola can prevent Type 1 diabetes. Rogan’s research also earned her the Best Three Minute Thesis award.

Huskies Showcase combines three former events: Student Research Colloquium, Honors Research Colloquium and Community Engagement Celebration.
