ST. CLOUD TIMES — The new St. Cloud State University president has the expertise and experience to lead the institution, said the leader of the Minnesota State college and university system.
Minnesota State Chancellor Devinder Malhotra was one of the hundreds of people who gathered Thursday at St. Cloud State to welcome Robbyn Wacker.
She was appointed St. Cloud State’s next president by the Minnesota State Board of Trustees on Wednesday and takes office July 1 as the university’s 24th president.
She is also the university’s first woman to be named as permanent president. The school has had two previous women at the helm in interim positions: Isabel Lawrence, from 1914-1916 and Suzanne Williams from 1999-2000.
