ST. CLOUD TIMES — More than 150 middle and high school students are taking an in-depth dive into healthcare careers at Scrubs Camp this week. The three-day camp, held on the campuses of St. Cloud State University and St. Cloud Technical and Community College, gives students entering grades 7-12 a look at nursing careers.
This is the third year of Scrubs Camp in St. Cloud. The camp is put on by HealthForce Minnesota, with help from community partners and SCSU and SCTCC faculty and nursing students, to help with the demand of healthcare workers.
Campers get a chance to look at a range of medical fields throughout the program. From nursing and phlebotomy, to social work and physical therapy, careers across the healthcare spectrum are covered in hands-on simulations, by speakers in the field or on field trips to medical facilities.
