More than 110 films, in nine categories, will screen during the Nov. 3-10 St. Cloud Film Fest.

Nine of the films are the work of St. Cloud State students and alumni, including “Not Yet, Not Ready,” a Cody Gustafson short about a man who uses memory technology to move past an old relationship. Gustafson is a film studies major from Otsego, Minnesota.

The other categories are Minnesota-made, avant garde, family, documentary, dark, Middle Eastern, Native American and animation.

The Minnesota-made category is highlighted by “Science Fair,” a documentary that won audience-favorite awards at the Sundance and South By Southwest festivals.

Cannes Film Festival Palme d’Or winner “Shoplifters,” by Japanese director Hirokazu Kore-eda, will screen 7 p.m. Nov. 5 at Brick House Cinema in Foley.

Most of the Film Fest films will screen at the Black Box Theater, St. Cloud. The 14 Middle Eastern category films will screen at the Miller Center‘s Ringsmuth Auditorium at St. Cloud State.

In its ninth year, the festival is the brainchild of John Scott ’07, a St. Cloud State film studies and communications studies graduate. The festival’s executive administrator is Jody Barth.
