The Central Minnesota Arts Board has awarded a $7,000 grant to Athena Music and Leadership Camp.

The 5-day intensive music camp for female middle school and high school musicians is run by faculty member Catherine Bushman and held each summer at St. Cloud State University.
This July students will participate in master classes and attend performances with professional musicians and educators.
Bushman is also attending Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic this week to host a panel titled “Opening the Door Wider: Panel on Women Composters of Wind Music.”
The grant is part of more than $140,000 awarded by the Central Minnesota Arts Board Dec. 13 in support of 24 regional arts projects.
The awards included $7,000 for the St. Cloud Symphony Orchestra “Generations” performance in February as part of the St. Cloud State University Sesquicentennial Celebration.
