This spring commencement ceremony was a highlight among the many signature events taking place during St. Cloud State’s Sesquicentennial year. St. Cloud State celebrated its first commencement on June 30, 1871 with 15 members of the Third State Normal School receiving their teaching degrees.
“Through the years as we ushered in two new centuries, two world wars and tremendous growth and change, St. Cloud State has evolved and adapted, continuing its commitment to offering an exceptional education, serving students and contributing to the economic well-being of our region,” said Wanda Overland, vice president of Student Life and Development. “Today we have over 200 academic graduate and undergraduate programs and more than 13,400 students, including 1,300 international students from 90 countries.”
