Minneapolis Fed President coming to St. Cloud State

Neel Kashkari, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, will hold a Town Hall Forum Oct. 8 at the Atwood Memorial Center Ballroom.

The program will begin with opening remarks at 4 p.m. followed by a question and answer session with Kashkari moderated by St. Cloud State University President Robbyn Wacker.

The event is free and open to the public. Advanced registration is required.

Kashkari became president of Minneapolis Fed in 2016. Since then, he has been involved in such initiatives as ending the too-big-to-fail problem with big banks and launching the Opportunity & Inclusive Growth Institute at the Minneapolis Fed to investigate the sources and solutions to persistent economic disparity in the United States

The Minneapolis bank is one of 12 regional Federal Reserve banks that implement U.S. monetary policy, as established by Congress and set forth by the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC).

Public parking is available in the 4th Avenue parking ramp. Parking rates are $0.75 per half-hour. For more driving and parking details, please refer to the campus map.

This Town Hall Forum is possible with the support of the Greater St. Cloud Development Corporation, the St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce, and St. Cloud State University’s Department of Economics and School of Public Affairs.

3:30 p.m. – Doors open
4 p.m. – Welcome and introduction, followed by opening remarks by Neel Kashkari
4:15 p.m. – Q&A with audience, moderated by Robbyn Wacker, President of St. Cloud State University
5 p.m. – Program ends
