College student helped shelter Dorian evacuees

KNSI — A St. Cloud State University Graduate student is back home after helping to keep people safe from Hurricane Dorian.

Chris Grieve is a Red Cross Volunteer and was in charge of a shelter at a high school in North Charleston, South Carolina, about 15 miles off the coast. The storm hit last Wednesday.

“I ended up having a population of a little over 300 in the shelter. We rode out the hurricane at the high school, and by the time the weather cleared on Friday, we closed down.”
