A one-stop website, Huskies Scholarships is accepting applications through March 13 for more than 530 scholarships.
Huskies Scholarships made more than 1,060 awards in 2019. More than $1.2 million was awarded to students for fall 2019 and spring 2020.
In addition to academic, merit-based scholarships, the website has scholarships endowed by friends and alumni that support students with particular majors and career interests. Huskies Scholarships also has access to nearly 50 external scholarship opportunities and 17 national scholarship-search tools.
Students who complete the Huskies Scholarships general application are auto-matched to specific scholarships. They are also presented a list of Recommended Opportunities for which they may apply based on their general scholarship answers. Two-thirds of the opportunities require applicants to submit additional information such as a degree audit report, essay or references.
Parents and community members can view and search scholarships without signing-in.
Students signing-in with a Star ID can:
- View and search scholarships
- Apply and accept scholarships
- Submit thank-you letters to donors
The application, review and awards process is managed by the Foundation and the Financial Aid Office. Faculty scholarship committees review and score qualified applications, select recipients and offer scholarships.
Most of the training and support for review committees is provided by staff members at the Foundation and Financial Aid Office.
Newly admitted students receive scholarships through the Office of Admissions system and may also apply for scholarships offered in Huskies Scholarships.
