Four SCSU Master of Science in Information Assurance students attended the 12th Annual Women in Cybersecurity (WiCyS) Conference in Denver, Colorado, March 16-18, 2023. Apsara Thapa, Samantha Collen, Salome Pantuvo, and Rojina Neupane are pictured.
Ms. Collen and Ms. Pantuvo were selected by the Women in Cybersecurity Conference to present their research “Security, Privacy, and Societal Implications of Using Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality in Education.” The presentation was well received by the more than 4000 attendees representing 19 countries. Both Ms. Collen and Ms. Pantuvo received scholarship funding to attend and present their research. The presenters acknowledged St. Cloud State University MSIA faculty and staff, and Dr. Abu Hussein and Dr. Lynn Collen for their research support and guidance. Other donors included the WiCyS National Office, the MN WiCyS Affiliate, the SCSU WiCyS Chapter, and the SCSU Senate Finance Committee.
