A partnership between St. Cloud State University and St. Cloud Technical and Community College has led to a successful DoD Cyber Service Academy (DoD CSA) grant application.
SCSU faculty members Mark Schmidt and Erich Rice have partnered with Brian Volkmuth at SCTCC. Given both institutions are designated as National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD), they are eligible to apply for the DoD CSA.
The grant provides funding for a speaker series on computer security topics to be presented to faculty, staff, students and community guests at Leech Lake Tribal College and to provide computer security training for central MN high school teachers and students. This outreach effort to Leech Lake Tribal College and central Minnesota high schools will promote cybersecurity awareness and education, interest in cyber security education as well as the DoD CSA and its scholarship program.
